America Counts is gearing up to help you and other Americans audit the 2022 midterm elections.
The 2022 Midterm Election is particularly important from an election transparency standpoint:
- It’s likely to generate highly partisan but not fully evidence-based claims about election security just like 2020
- Voter turnout is likely to be low, but the stakes are very high–in particular, it will determine which party controls Congress
- The US election system seems unlikely to see big, meaningful security-related reforms before 2022
This gives bad actors a huge incentive to attack the election and sow chaos and uncertainty about the result.
